On Black Friday, you can watch your neighbors assault each other in the aisles of a department store, fighting over $20 worth of kitchen appliances, or you can adopt a pet in need instead.

From Black Friday until Cyber Monday, Zappos will be covering the cost of adopting a dog or cat through Best Friends Animal Society and its partner rescue organizations. In addition to paying the adoption fee (estimated at an average of $100), Zappos will donate an additional $150 to help care for another animal who is still awaiting adoption. The online retailer has pledged up to $1.1 million dollars toward the cause, which would cover the cost for an estimated 4,000 pet adoptions as well as approximately 1/3 of the cost of food, medical care, immunizations, training and more for other animals waiting for their forever homes.

From Black Friday to Cyber Monday, will be sponsoring FREE pet adoption across the nation (150+ locations) together with Best Friends Animal Society to celebrate the #pawlidayz.
