Woman Uses Pictures Of Her Cats To Complain To Internet Company

There is nothing worse than losing your Internet connection. I mean, come on now, we need it to watch countless YouTube videos, check our emails, see what people are tweeting about, shop and read awesome pet-related articles (obviously). We also use it to post things on Facebook.

Which is exactly what Laura Carrie of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, did when her Internet went out.

Carrie, frustrated that her broadband still had not been connected after five days of waiting, took to Facebook to complain to her provider, Telstra. Instead of ranting and raving, though, she went with the catty approach, sharing pictures of her feline companion, Kittie Smalls, on the company’s Facebook page, using the prepaid mobile device the company provided for her use while her connection was down, Mashable Australia reports.

“Hi Telstra! I know people usually complain when their broadband was supposed to be connected 5 days ago, and they have made five futile phone calls to you, but I’d like to see the positive side and thank you for giving me a night off from working on my small business,” Carrie wrote in the first post on May 30. “Usually I’d be slogging away on my computer taking care of my customers but thanks to you I can’t do that anymore, so I’m having a night off, Woo!!!

“Now I can’t watch Netflix (no interwebs remember) so I have to make my own fun. So I thought I’d reconnect with my cat, Kittie Smalls. Seeing as this night wouldn’t have been possible without YOU I thought I’d share some moments with you.

“This is us playing poker. She’s a natural.”

To Telstra’s credit, a representative named Renee responded to the post with, “Nothing brings closeness quite like poker with your pet cat. Kittie Smalls looks like she’s having a ball. While she may be stoked to be experiencing such closeness, she is likely thinking, ‘this is weird.’ I know my cat, Scruffles, would be thinking the same and often does when I want to spend more than the two minute attention sharing moments with him. This makes it awkward for me when I work from home and have a half hour lunch break. Nevertheless, it’s disappointing that you are not yet connected. I’m sure Kittie Smalls was keen to watch Netflix with you. If you happen to have a reference number handy, I can find out what’s going on.”

Unfortunately, by the following Sunday the issue still had not been resolved, prompting Carrie to get catty again.

On Monday, Telstra told Carrie that her Internet would be up and running again within 24 hours. Carrie celebrated by posting another photo of Kittie Smalls on Telstra’s wall.

However, when Tuesday still brought no Internet, Carrie and Kittie Smalls, along with Carrie’s partner Brent Stephens, posted yet another message to Telstra.

Telstra rep Renee once again responded, this time saying, “That’s definitely big guns. Disappointed is certainly something we have in common. Touching base, I have been following progress and as much as I’ve wanted to jump in and be the totes rad hero, your case manager seems to be on top of everything and doing everything they can. We communicate daily. I’m proving to be a bit of pain. Worth it though. More than appreciate your updates. Not long now.”

Shortly after, Carrie once again brought in the cats.
