Wire Fox Terrier Wins 2011 National Dog Show

Best in Show awarded to GCh. Steele Your Heart

At the 10th Annual National Dog Show in Philadelphia on Thanksgiving Day, judge Karen Wilson awarded Best in Show to Wire Fox Terrier GCh. Steele Your Heart. ‘Eira’ beat out over 1,500 competitors for the coveted title and has her sights set on the Westminster Kennel Club show in February. If she wins Westminster, she’ll become the third dog ever to win both championships in the same season.

Eira is owned by Torie Steele and Mary Ann Roma and lives in Southern California with handler Gabriel Rangel. Rangel is no stranger to the winner’s circle — he piloted Scottish Terrier ‘Sadie’ to Best in Show at the National Dog Show two years prior. Sadie also went on to win the Westminster Kennel Club show in 2010.

The finalists from the other Groups include:
From the Toy Group, the Affenpinscher: GCh. Banana Joe V Tani Kazari
From the Hound Group, the Whippet: GCh. Starline’s Chanel
From the Herding Group, the Australian Shepherd: GCh. Propwash Reckon
