Dogs sometimes do the darndest things. For some reason, they can sense when you are happy or sad and their emotions often mirror your emotions. In fact, a study conducted by the University of Lincoln in the United Kingdom suggests that dogs can recognize human feelings.
It is no wonder, then, that when a baby wails in despair, the dog sitting next to him wails in unison with the baby.
In a classic video that was uploaded to YouTube several years ago, a baby is seen on a mat holding onto a puffy ball. When the baby cries, the dog sitting on the mat next to him starts to wail as well.
The baby then stops as the dog continues to howl. The baby starts to cry again for a short spurt and the dog continues with his howling, which stops the baby from crying further. It seems that when the baby cries, the dog starts howling and the howling dog is what causes the baby to stop crying.
The dog then gets up and walks off the mat as the baby looks on in silence. The dog has found a way to keep the baby from crying, and a happy baby is what the dog probably prefers.
