Watch What Happens When A Guy Turns His Tesla Over To His Dog

The car's autopilot feature is in charge, but don't tell that to this Golden Retriever.

Last fall, the Tesla Model S sedans and Model X SUVs received a software update that gave them an autopilot mode, which would allow the cars to be semi-autonomous and (mostly) drive themselves. But it also allows Tesla owners to, say, turn the cars over to their Golden Retrievers.

John Mayo-Smith posted a video of his own Model S being expertly backed out of the garage by itself – or maybe with a little help from his own pet. (OK, the dog had nothing to do with it, but he looked good behind the wheel).

The :38 second video shows how frighteningly reliable Tesla’s autopilot feature is. It also gives this dog something to brag about the next time he’s at PetSmart. “So, ladies, would you like to ride in my Model S,” he’ll casually ask as he hangs out near the squeaky toys.”The S stands for Sexy. Or Snausages. Whatever you’re into.”

In retrospect, this might’ve been a bad idea.
