They call him Scooter, for obvious reasons. The 12-week-old pup is still learning to walk and, right now, he’s still sort-of in the stage where he “scoots” on his chest.
The adorable little guy was born without front legs and taken to a shelter almost before he was even old enough to open his eyes, Fox News reports. But thanks to the efforts of Pitty Paws Bully Rescue, he is getting a little more mobile — and he’s getting his own set of wheels.
“I call him an inchworm because he kind of throws his chest forward and lunches with his rear,” Dr. Julie Mayer told Fox News.
Scooter is slowly learning how to walk, though, with some help from the staff at the Phoenix, Arizona-based organization. They’re training him to walk on his back legs by using an inflatable tube and some peanut butter as a motivational tool. (But let’s be honest, peanut butter would motivate us to do just about anything.) He is also learning how to push himself on his own wheeled cart. Guess it’s too late to name him Speedy?
