In February 2012, photos of dogs diving underwater flooded the internet. The photos by DOG FANCY contributing photographer Seth Casteel, which portray dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds taking the plunge, are now available in a gift book, “Underwater Dogs.”
“Underwater Dogs” features more than 80 portaits, dozens of which have not yet made it to the internet. Casteel’s unique work captures man’s best friend in a new light. While many people have thrown a dog’s ball or toy into the water, few have seen what goes on beneath the surface. What is normally a basic exercise of leap, splash, retrieve has been turned into works of art filled with billowing ears, paddling paws, bared teeth and flowing fur.
Casteel is an award-winning photographer with a passion for animals and rescue efforts. He is the proud dad to to Nala the Labrador-Miniature Poodle and Fritz the Norwich Terrier.
