Uggie, the Jack Russell Terrier best known for his role in the award-winning 2011 movie “The Artist,” has died at age 13, TMZ reports.

After a suffering with a prostate tumor, Uggie’s owner, Omar Von Mueller, made the difficult choice to put him down, according to TMZ. Uggie lived with Von Mueller in Los Angeles.

Though he had health problems at the end, Uggie certainly lived every moment to the fullest. He starred alongside Jean Dujardin in the Oscar winning film, “The Artist” — of which he was nominated for a Golden Collar Award and a Palm Dog Award — and he became the first ever spokesdog for Nintendo.

Uggie, we will miss your colorful spirit and your adorable, happy face. Rest in peace.
