Tropical Fish Word of the Day: Riparium

Expand your tropical fish vocabulary with the Tropical Fish Word of the Day.

Riparium: (n.) Ripariums are specialized planted aquariums that replicate the marginal, shoreline plant habitats that occur where the land meets the water in ponds, rivers, lakes and streams. Ripariums have underwater plants, as well as plants growing up and out of the water (often above the top of the aquarium). These above- water plants are held up by containers attached to the glass or the rim of the back glass panel. They are different from paludarium planted aquariums because there is no land area.
