Travel Tuesday: A Cat Café in Lithuania

Cat cafés are springing up everywhere, including Lithuania.

Lithuania probably wasn’t the first place that came to mind when you saw the words “cat café.” Cat Café probably wasn’t the first thing you thought of when you saw the word “Lithuania.” But in fact the two go together to form Cat Café Vilnius Kaciu Kavine.

Located at J. Jasinskio g. 1 in Vilnius, Lithuania, this cat café is home to 13 cats. You must be 6 years old or older to have cat time with these felines and you must place a minimum order of 2.99 € ($3.34 USD) per person. Based on the menu, that’s a pretty simple request. They offer six different salads, including one with chicken and mango. They also offer sandwiches and pasta. Starters include herring, cheese and bread plates as well as French fries. If you’re looking for dessert only, you can choose from tiramisu, cake, waffles and ice cream. They offer a plethora of drinks – way too many to name here, but chances are if you want it, they have it. You can have a milkshake while your traveling companion drinks sangria. The menu is so thorough that it even contains cat treats that you can purchase for the resident cats.

But while you’re there, enjoying your food and drinks and happily spending time with the kitties, you have to follow a few rules:

Cat Café Vilnius Kaciu Kavine is open most days from noon to 10 p.m. and from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday. If you’re planning a trip out there, be sure to stop here and let us know all about it. To make a reservation, visit their website.
