Tori Spelling’s Pug Dies at 11

Mimi LaRue earned fame – and fans – on the reality show "So noTORIous.”

Tori Spelling’s Pug Mimi LaRue, made famous on Spelling’s reality shows “So noTORIous” and “Tori & Dean: Inn Love,” has died at the age of 11.

Spelling told People that Mimi LaRue died Tuesday of natural causes surrounded by her family, including Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott, son Liam, and 10-day-old daughter Stella.

“I’m devastated,” says Spelling, who revealed that the dog suffered from longtime medical problems related to her hips and neck. “I’m convinced she waited around to make sure I had the daughter I always dreamt about before she left us.”

Spelling says Mimi LaRue enjoyed her life in the spotlight. “She was not just a dog but a fashion icon and legend amongst Hollywood dogs,” she says. “She received fan e-mail on a regular basis, and I often joked she got sent more designer clothes than me!

“She was a star and a true lady, and she will be missed greatly,” Spelling says. “People everywhere knew her by name. I loved when fans wanted her over me. I felt proud!”
