On the eve of the 130th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, a record-breaking blizzard dumped more than two feet of snow on Manhattan — but the 2,622 dogs who descended upon the city aren’t strangers to breaking records, and a little snow failed to faze them or their handlers.
Snow doesn’t stop dog people, exclaimed a woman tramping down Eighth Avenue on the other end of a Golden Retrievers leash. It doesn’t bother the dogs, so it doesn’t bother us.
On Monday, Feb. 13, Madison Square Garden buzzed with excitement as the show began. The Working Group entered the ring first and burly, broad-shouldered dogs with authoritative faces spurred enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
