After winning Best of Breed honors one morning, it was off to the Earthdog trial for Circe, a 3-year-old Australian Terrier. “The day was cold and rainy,” recalls owner Marilyn Harban, a breeder in Tennessee. “But Circe was impervious to the weather. She passed her [hunting instinct] test within the time allowed and completed her Senior Earthdog title.”
But the day wasn’t over — the dog show’s group competition was next. A quick toweling, blow dry, and brush up transformed the wet and muddy champion back to ring-ready status, and off to the show Harban and Circe went.
