When you leave your dog home alone, you might spend the rest of the day wondering what he’s doing. He could be sleeping peacefully in his favorite sunbeam, thumbing through the more exciting parts of your diary or repainting your house with all four of his paws. Furbo, a new product on Indiegogo, will let you see exactly what your dog is up to, let you calm him down if he’s freaking out and will fling a treat across the room, too.
Furbo has a built-in 720p HD camera that will live-stream your dog’s activities to a connected app on your phone. From the app, you can zoom in (to see what he’s chewing), use the night vision camera to watch him in the dark (not creepy at all) or use the two-way microphone to talk to him if he seems distressed, anxious or just needs to hear a well-timed “OFF!” when he jumps onto the furniture.
Furbo will also send an alert to your phone, if it hears your dog repeatedly barking. That way, you can check to see if he’s just barking because he’s bored or because there’s something suspicious happening at the back door. But the feature your dog will be most delighted about is the one that allows you to use the app to send a treat flying across the room for him.
The Indiegogo campaign has already exceeded its funding goal of $50,000, and it is accepting pre-orders for Furbo for another month. Earlybirds can score one Furbo for $99 or pick up a pair of them for $189.
