Therapy Dog Program Has Star-Studded Debut

The Los Angeles debut of Angel On a Leash featured several familiar canine faces.

Luxury Pet Pavilion kicked off its Spring 2008 trade show by sponsoring the Los Angeles debut of Angel On A Leash, a charity created by the Westminster Kennel Club that uses therapy dogs in health care facilities, schools, rehabilitation, hospice, extended care, correctional facilities, and crisis intervention.

The red carpet was rolled out for some of Hollywood’s canine celebrities, including Abbey, a German Shepherd Dog from “I Am Legend;” Breezy, a Beagle from “Star Trek Enterprise;” Tubbs, a Bulldog from “The Game Plan;” Jed, a Mastiff mix, and Quigley, a Pomeranian, both from “Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins;” Chester, a Chihuahua from “Transformers;” and Gibson, a harlequin Great Dane, the world’s tallest dog.

The furry stars helped unveil the traveling “Hollywood Dog Walk of Fame,” fashioned after the legendary stretch of Hollywood Boulevard that is home to the stars.

Actress Patrika D’Arbo from “Days of Our Lives” and “Charlie Wilson’s War” also lent her support.
