A week after Second Lady Karen Pence announced on Twitter the passing of their cat, Oreo, she used Twitter to annouce the Second Family’s adoption of a new cat named Hazel and, for Father’s Day, a puppy named Harley for Vice President Mike Pence.

“We welcomed a new kitten to our family during our trip back home to Indiana this weekend! Introducing: Hazel!,” Karen wrote on Twitter.

The vice president’s daughter, Charlotte, took to Instagram with photos of the new additions as well.

“… and with loss, comes new life ~ Welcome to our family, Harley and Hazel! And happy Father’s Day to the best dad who deserves a surprise puppy and so much more,” Charlotte wrote on her Instagram page.

Harley and Hazel will join Marlon Bundo, a rabbit Charlotte got in college while making a movie. Welcome to the Second Family Harley and Hazel. We hope to see you on Instagram real soon!
