The first part of this feature, published in last month’s DR Annual, outlined the criteria that I feel are required to make a great show dog, and included profiles of the biggest winners during the first half of recorded dog show history in the US up to 1960. Here we’ve put together a slide show of the greatest show dogs of all time from 1960 to present day. To qualify for consideration a dog must have been No. 1 All Breeds for not just one year but two (or at least No. 1 and No. 2 in successive years) — or to have been No. 1 All Breeds and also won one or more of the “classic” shows: Westminster, Crufts, the FCI World Show or more recently the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.
