The Cat Scratching Blocks That Turn Your Living Room into a Real-Life Game of Tetris

Papercut Lab has designed Katris, a set of cardboard modular scratching blocks for your cat.

I love to decorate. And if the décor is minimalistic (meaning not too busy looking), with lots of clean lines, I love it even more (this may be the Dane in me coming out; if you’ve been to Denmark, you know what I’m talking about). So when I saw Papercut Lab’s Katris, I knew it was something I had to share with others in the cat-loving community.

As the website states, Katris is “a cat tree, a bookshelf, a cat scratcher, a coffee table, for both you and your cat.” These modular cardboard blocks are durable, nontoxic and eco-friendly, but the best part is that you can choose what shapes you want them in, where you want them to go and which shapes you want to buy. Each block (shaped like the letters I, L, O, T and Z) are sold on Amazon for $49.95. A bundle of five costs $235.95.

Here’s how it works:

Papercut Lab recommends that when setting up Katris, cat parents put it in “a favorite area where your cat lives to play, sprinkle some catnip onto Katris to invite your cat over [and] secure [multiple] pieces with the clips included in your package.” As it is cardboard, don’t get it wet. Use a dry item to pick up any cat fur. It is also recommended that Katris be set up against a wall and/or with non-slip pads.

Katris offers a variety of ways to set up your cat’s new playground. Check out some here:

What do you think of Katris? Would you purchase it for your cat?
