Texas Helps Evacuated Dogs

Check out how the dog rescuing efforts are paying off.

As the Austin Humane Society worked to provide Hurricane Katrina evacuees with temporary shelter for their pets, good news arrived from the Austin evacuation center, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. A 14-year-old girl arrived at the center with her family. Once there, she was reunited with her puppy, a gift from her father who was still missing at the time.
