Tales of a Cat Sitter

CatChannel expert Jeanne Adlon, professional cat sitter, discusses the collected cat knowlege she presents in her new book, Cat Calls.

Instead of answering one of your terrific questions this week, I hope you will let me share some exciting news. My first book, Cat Calls: Wonderful Stories and Practical Advice from a Veteran Cat Sitter from Square One Publishers is now available in book stores and on Amazon.com. Even better, CAT FANCY editor Susan Logan agreed to be my co-author! I cannot tell you how much fun we had writing Cat Calls which is filled with over 35 years of cat stories and some real commonsense cat care advice.

I have made a career out of caring for other people’s wonderful cats and known some truly amazing kitties. I thought now was the time to share my stories with cat lovers everywhere. Susan was able to bring them to life on the page and add her years of expert cat care experience, as we decided what information was valuable for cat owners to know. Thank you, Susan!

Cat Calls has chapters on food, health, litter, playtime, adopting and more. Each is filled with stories — like the time I had to dodge a tarantula in order to care for a kitty. Then there were the pair of pampered cats whose owner insisted they eat from Waterford crystal cups and the determined cat who thought the Thanksgiving turkey was his.

Just like this column, which I love writing, Cat Calls gives commonsense advice along with fun tales of the many cats I have had the privilege to care for. Every cat is unique and each has a story to share. I always say I learn something new every day from my feline friends and hope to do so for a long time.

Wishing you and your wonderful kitties the very best! Please use this link here to learn more about Cat Calls or order a copy for a special cat lover.
