I’m fortunate to have been around cats my whole life without suffering from allergies. My boyfriend Mark, who has been around only dogs for most of his life, is not so lucky. He loves my cats and they, including Sophie, love him, but he breaks out into a rash if he doesn’t wash his hands after petting them and sneezes when I don’t have fresh air circulating in the house. So for the first time, I’m not only editing our annual home issue for style and clarity, I’m having to take notes and put this advice into practice.
