Upwards of 1,000 homeless cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits, and birds will be available for adoption on Sunday, April 27, at the annual Best Friends Animal Society’s Spring Super Adoption Festival. More than 60 Los Angeles-area rescue groups and animal shelters will be on hand with adoptable animals at the North Hollywood Recreation Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sponsored by the Petco Foundation, Designing Health, and Chrissie’s Fund, the free event will include a children’s activity pavilion, dog agility demonstrations (including Frisbee and flyball), pet psychics, dog trainers, product and service vendors, celebrity guests, and much more. In past years, the event has found homes for more than 400 animals in one day.
“This is a very powerful event that not only impacts the pet overpopulation crisis in Los Angeles by creating public awareness of the cause of homeless pets, but also saves innocent lives, one pet at a time,” said Francis Battista, Best Friends’ director of Los Angeles programs. “We’re looking forward to staging our event in North Hollywood, and hope to see hundreds of animals placed into loving new homes.”
