Celebrities who bring their pets to the opening days of the 2006 Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 19 and 20 , in Park City, Utah, can join their small dogs in getting side-by-side spa treatments from Cesar Canine Cuisine pet food.
Sabrina Levine, spokeswoman for Cesar Canine Cuisine, says the premiere Retreat for the Small Dogs You Adore is celeb-only, and will not be open to the public. Levine says invitations to stars expected to attend the festival are in the mail, and it’s too early to tally those who have accepted.
It is the first time the spa will be offered at Sundance, which has grown to include a wide-range of celebrities and world premieres during its 10-day run from Jan 19 to 29. The festival opens with the premier of Friends With Money, directed by Nicole Holofcener and starring Jennifer Aniston, Scott Caan, Joan Cusack and Frances McDormand.
While pets get the royal treatment from the L.A.-based celebrity dog spa [delete comma] Chateau Marmutt, which will offer dog nail trimmings, massages, grooming and makeovers, the stars will be pampered by The Virtual Spa with luxury massages, reflexology, manicures and pedicures, Levine says.
The Cesar Spa will also offer top-notch dog daycare and portraits by Christopher Amerouso, author of Celebrities and Their Pets. Like at the Oscars, stars will get gift bags with pet products at the spa.
Cesar is also planning a series of evening dog-themed events that will raise money for animal-related charities. Masterfoods USA, of Hackettstown, N.J., the maker of Cesar Canine Cuisine, is part of Mars, Inc.
