Standard Poodle Wins Best in Show

Meet the 2011 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship BIS and Group Winners

The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship has long been regarded as one of the most esteemed dog shows in the world. This year, judge Polly Smith awarded Best in Show to Standard Poodle GCh. Jaset’s Satisfaction after a weekend of fierce competition. “London,” the BIS-winning Standard Poodle, is owned by Beth Harris, Michael Molnar and Jamie Danburg of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and walks away not only with the impressive title, but $50,000 in prize money.

Hound: GCh. Downhome Hitech Innovator, a Harrier known as “Chet” owned by Joe and Carla Sanchez of Murrieta, Calif.

Working: GCh. Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, a Boxer known as “Scarlett” owned by D. McCarroll, M. Fagan, J. Billhardt & S. Tenenbaum of Aptos, Calif.

Terrier: GCh. Steele Your Heart, a Wire Fox Terrier known as “Eira” owned by Torie Steele and Maryann Roma of Malibu, Calif.

Toy: GCh. Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, an Affenpinscher known as “Joe” owned by Zoila Truesdale and Mieke Cooymans of Seekonk, Mass.

Non-Sporting: GCh. Jaset’s Satisfaction, a Standard Poodle known as “London” owned by Beth Harris, Michel Molnar and Jamie Danburg of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Herding: GCh. Babheims Captain Crunch, a German Shepherd Dog known as “Cap” owned by J. & S. Moses, D. Stern, J. Lange, C. Navarro and M. Deschamp of Carrollton, Ga.

Eukanuba World Challenge
GCh. Propwash Reckon, an Australian Shepherd representing the United States and owned by Leslie Frank and Judy Harrington was awarded Eukanuba World Challenge Champion.

Best Bred-By-Exhibitor in Show
GCh. Thaon’s Mowgli, an Afghan Hound known as “Mowgli” was awarded Best Bred-By-Exhibitor in Show. He is owned by Jay Hafford, James Blanchard, A. Sterner & D. Rogers of Valley Center, Calif.

Best in Miscellaneous Group
Edison’s Knick Knack, a Russell Terrier owned by Bonnie J. Edison of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.

Junior Showmanship
In the Junior Showmanship competition, for handlers from between 9 to 18 years of age, Emma Grayson Echols with her Yorkshire Terrier “Tucker” was awarded Best Junior Handler.
