Simon Cowell Judges British Dog Show

"American Idol” judge Simon Cowell rendered his verdict at a British dog show for charity.

Simon Cowell, “American Idol” judge and talent-scouting music producer, brought his unique brand of biting commentary to the judging circle at a British dog show for charity on Sunday, July 15, 2007.
Cowell rendered his verdict in such categories as “Waggiest Tail” at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ annual dog show, held this year in the southern English city of Brighton.

Cowell will also provide a voiceover for a series of TV ads for the RSPCA that debuted on British TV over the weekend.

“When I was asked to get involved with this project for the RSPCA, I didn’t hesitate,” said Cowell in a statement. “I think the work they do is vitally important in protecting many thousands of animals from harm and neglect every single year.”

“Inflicting any kind of suffering on a defenseless animal is one of the most deplorable acts a human being can do and we all have a responsibility to stop this from happening,” says Cowell.

This was Cowell’s third year attending the event after his mother, a longtime RSPCA volunteer, asked for his help.
