Shelter Pets Get Boost From Cats in Hats

A photo series puts kittens in tiny costume items for a quick pic, to draw attention to adoptable animals.

Shelter cats and kittens are getting the fashionable treatment courtesy of animal lovers Shaina Fishman and Ryen Blaschke. Fishman, a photographer, and Blaschke, a stylist, have partnered on the too-cute-for-words “Cats in Hats” series, which puts felines in the forefront, dolled up in stylish hats, all in the name of promoting shelter adoptions.

“We wanted to create a lighthearted series featuring rescue cats and kittens that are up for adoption,” Fishman told BoredPanda. “Customized hats were handmade by Ryen and then shot by me on rescued cats from Brooklyn Animal Action, in the homes of volunteer’s fostering the cats.”

The playful photo series features felines dressed as characters and personalities as notorious as Maleficent, Harry Potter, and Donald Trump; but we’re kind of partial to the wee kitten wearing a Robin Hood inspired topper. Take a peek at some of the amazing results below:
