Buddy comes to life after seeing her owner after more than three months.

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder — and for one senior dog and her soldier owner, the proof is in the video.

Thirteen-year-old Buddy was lying down when her best friend, 21-year-old Army private Hannah Foraker, returned home from military training for the holidays, Today reports. The Golden Retriever, who reportedly is loosing her hearing and has arthritis, seems to lose her ailments when her “momma,” who’d been away for more than three months, surprised her.

The emotional reunion shows Buddy coming to life when she sees her soldier — pawing and kissing her human, all while her tail wags with joy.

“Buddy was so overwhelmed that she just collapsed in pure happiness,” Foraker told Today. “We were apart for [more than three] months, so the reunion was such a beautiful experience.”

At the end of the day, or after returning from a long absence, a good puppy pampering is guaranteed to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
