San Diego Humane Society Closed For Renovation

Facility will be closed for four days in late January during redesign.

Members of the San Diego chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers will re-design all 24 doggie apartments and 15 cat habitats at the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA from Jan. 22 to 25.

Due to the renovation, the facility will be closed Jan. 21 to 25, with a grand re-opening tour scheduled for the evening of Fri., Jan. 26.

The SDHS-SPCA houses adoptable animals in apartment-like habitats, with dogs and cats living in spacious rooms complete with furniture. The environments are being further enhanced by volunteer designers from the ASID’s San Diego chapter.

In addition to providing free services, the volunteer designers will also obtain donated materials and furnishings to complete their rooms, according to the Humane Society.

The remodeling project comes as part of the ASID San Diego chapter’s community service program.
