Rosie was just 3 weeks old when she was discovered alone and sick. By the looks of her fragile form, her rescuers didn’t think the tiny stray kitten would survive; that is, until they introduced her to an unlikely surrogate.
“She almost did not make it through the first night … even with round-the-clock care,” Rosie’s person wrote on Instagram. “She was lethargic and limp. So we decided to go out on a limb and let her cuddle extensively with Lilo (the Husky). By some miracle, she started suckling on Lilo and Lilo went full ‘mom mode.’ Even stimulating it to go to the bathroom. (This was very shocking to me).”
Lilo, who had never had puppies of her own, instinctively knew exactly what Rosie needed (an extensive cuddle sesh), and within two days, Rosie had opened her eyes. One week later, the kitten with the very rough start was toddling about; and now, well, she’s one of the pack. You read that right: Rosie now runs with the ultimate pack of all, Huskies!
Trips to the park, walking on a leash – Rosie the kitten does it all alongside her beloved Husky fam (who perhaps think she’s a pocket-sized pooch?)!
