Rachael Ray, her dog food line Nutrish and her philanthropic organization, Rachael’s Rescue, have pledged funds and food to help the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’, recently established Disaster Fund. The fund will accept grant applications from qualified animal organizations in states affected by severe weather incidents.
“I am a huge lover of animals, and I simply can’t bear the thought of them homeless, hungry and in need of care,” said Rachael Ray.
One of Nutrish’s factories is located in Joplin, Mo., so the recent tragedy hit home for Rachael, who was ready to get in and help. “I’m so happy I could join the incredible efforts already under-way by the ASPCA in helping families find their pets and care for animals in their community.”
All of Ray’s proceeds from each sale of her pet food go to Rachael’s Rescue. In the few short years since its launch, the Rachael Ray Nutrish brand has raised and donated more than $1.5 million for animal charities.
