For a rabbit’s safety, having seats available doesn’t mean a rabbit should be let out of his carrier.
What’s the world coming to when a rabbit can’t casually sit on a subway seat? We’re talking sans carrier here. Actually, it might be coming to its senses. I think many people might prefer a rabbit seatmate to some others, but for the safety of the rabbit, traveling in a carrier is really the best option.
I don’t know the story behind this photo, which was taken over the weekend and circulated on social media. Perhaps the rabbit was only outside the carrier for mere moments. He or she looks like quite well behaved. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority took the opportunity on Twitter to remind passengers, in a friendly way, that rabbits should remain in their carriers while on the subway.
