Purr-fectly Normal

There's nothing wrong with a cat lying in wait for attention.

There's nothing wrong with a cat lying in wait for attention.

Q. Sadie is about 11 months old. Every morning when I open my bedroom door she’s always lying on her side, purring very loudly, waiting to be petted, especially around her head and under her chin. She will repeat this routine during the day. What is she telling me?

A. Is Sadie spayed? Often this action is associated with being in heat, but assuming that she is spayed, this is perfectly normal behavior for a love tiger disguised as a house cat! My old black male cat, Zoey, does this all the time and he simply wants me to stop what I am doing and pay attention to him.
