An Iraqi war veteran from East Los Angeles, California, got his German Shepherd dog stolen from his front yard and it was caught on surveillance video.

A friend gave Francisco Torres, who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), TJ when she was just a few months old. The now 8-month-old dog was taken from the front yard of Torres’ home the morning of November 1 after the thief opened the gate and led the dog out.

“They violated our space, they pried the lock, they took her, and she’s such a friendly dog,” Torres told ABC 7 Los Angeles. “I train her. She keeps me busy, and yeah we just want her back.”

Torres told ABC News that they believe they know who stole the dog. A neighbor told them the man in the video is a friend but she won’t tell them where he is.

“We know who you are,” Torres’ wife, Angela, told ABC 7 Los Angeles. “We just want her back.” The family has since filed a report with the police.
