Over the Thanksgiving holiday last year, Joni Harrel and her son Mark Becker lost their 4-year-old Pug, Chips. He somehow disappeared from their San Antonio, Texas home and they couldn’t find him. As the months went by, Harrel and Becker likely started feeling more and more as though they’d never see Chips again. But then, nearly a year later, he was found in a parking lot in Petal, Mississippi, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Chips was taken to Panther Pet Hospital, where it was discovered he was microchipped. Vickie Freeman, an employee at the hospital, called the company and obtained the owners’ information. She contacted them, and Harrel and Becker drove the 650 miles to finally be reunited with their dog.
When a dog goes missing for 11 months, the outcome is not usually a good one. We’re glad this one is.
