It’s a dog’s life at the White House – at least from the perspective of one resident. The White House has released this year’s holiday video starring Barney, the Bush family’s Scottish Terrier.
“Barney’s Holiday Extravaganza” marks the dog’s eighth film since President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush moved into the White House. In this year’s movie, Barney is seen dealing with national budget cutbacks by planning a reality dance show.
Some senior White House staff have cameos in the nine-and-a-half-minute feature, as does former NFL great and current “Dancing With the Stars” champion Emmit Smith.
Other Barney-themed videos available on the White House website include “A Very Beazley Christmas,” “Barney has Found Miss Beazley” and “Barney and Miss Beazley’s Spring Garden Tour,” all posted in 2005.
Older Barney videos include 2004’s “Where in the White House is Miss Beazley?” 2003’s “Barney Cam II” and “Barney and Spot’s Winter Wonderland,” and 2002’s “Barney Cam I.”
