Poster Contest Celebrates Purebred Dogs

AKC seeks submissions for the annual AKC/Eukanuba National Championship poster.

Artistic dog enthusiasts will have a chance to showcase their talent at the upcoming 10th annual AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, held in Long Beach, Calif., Dec. 4-5.

To commemorate the event, the AKC and Eukanuba are inviting people to submit an original two-dimensional drawing or painting to celebrate the theme: “The Wonderful World of Purebred Dogs.” The artwork may depict the AKC event name or setting, other AKC events, purebred puppies or the bond between humans and canines, and must portray multiple dog breeds.

The grand prize winner will receive $1,000 and a three-day/two-night trip to the AKC/Eukanuba Championship.

The winning artwork will be sold at the event as a commemorative poster with proceeds donated to Take the Lead, a nonprofit organization that supports and provides services for people in the sport of purebred dogs who suffer a life-threatening illness. Submissions must be received online or be postmarked by Oct. 15.
