Pop-Up Cat Café Makes Dallas Even More Cat-Friendly, Y’all

Head to the Cat Connection in August to play with kitties while you sip beverages.

It seems cat cafés are literally popping up across the country; one recently opened up in Washington, D.C., and one is in the works in Austin. Feline fans in Dallas, however, won’t have to wait on the Austin cat café to get their caffeine fix with cats.

The Cat Connection, a locally headquartered pet supply store boasting a cat hotel and spa, is hosting a pop-up cat café for four Saturdays with a big kick-off on Aug. 8, where visitors can indulge in complimentary specialty coffee drinks and sweet treats (in addition to the cats!).

But wait, there’s more. Those who come on opening day will also have the chance to hobnob with internet “celebricat” Sauerkraut Kitty.

Each weekend will sponsor cats and kittens from a different local area rescue with representatives on-hand to facilitate adoptions. Guests will have around 20 minutes or so to lose themselves amongst the cats and kittens on a first-come-first-served basis. And while donations are not mandatory, all funds raised will go to the local rescue sponsoring the café for that particular weekend.
