Imagine shiny silver tinsel sparkling from its place upon the tree; dishes piled high with turkey drumsticks, stuffing and mashed potatoes; white fairy lights twinkling from the banisters and rooftops. These are just a few of the trappings we love about the holiday season. Unfortunately, they pose the biggest hazards to our beloved feline friends. To truly have a happy holiday season, take the appropriate precautions to keep kitty safe.
The Dangers of Décor
It’s not surprising that right after washing the Thanksgiving dishes, we head out to the garage and begin unloading the decorations that will accompany us straight through the New Year. Living with a cat is no reason to do away with holiday décor altogether, but it is up to you to keep certain items well out of kitty’s reach. Sometimes decorations seem harmless, but pose the greatest hazards to your cat’s health.
