Online network launches a pet-sitting division to expand its service to the pet industry

Sittercity offers pet-sitting divisionSittercity, an online network that pairs baby-sitters with parents, launched a pet-sitting division June 1. Feedback from clients, focus study groups and other data, led the company to expand into the pet industry, said Bethany Sirt, a company spokesperson.

Searchable by zip code, users will be able to choose from 150,000 pet sitters.

Registration for sitters is free while pet owners pay $7.99 per month for an annual membership or $39.99 for a temporary membership. Those already registered can search for a pet sitter at no additional cost.
