Parrot Nation? Chopalooza! To Benefit the Florida Parrot Rescue

Chopalooza, hosted by Bonnie's Birds, will feature CHOP, a mixture of sliced and diced vegetables, whole grains and supplements for parrots and pet birds.

What happens when you give 10 crazy parrot owners food processors and a couple hundred pounds of vegetables?  Chopalooza!  Chopalooza is a production of CHOP ?a potpourri of sliced and diced vegetables, whole grains and supplements mixed into a nutritious food for parrots and pet birds, and all to benefit Florida Parrot Rescue (FPR). Bonnie? Birds in Port Charlotte, Fla., will host this event beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012.

BIRD TALK Magazine writer and columnist, blogger and speaker Patricia Sund conceptualized “Parrot Nation’s Chopalooza!” and will be appearing with her popular African grey parrot, Parker. Parker is one of the three birds that are the focus of her BIRD TALK Magazine column, “Memo to Parker and Pepper,” as well as one topic of discussion at her blog, Parrot Nation. Sund is also known for “Chop,?a fresh food concept for feeding companion parrots and pet birds. Sund will be demonstrating how to make CHOP and, with volunteer help, will be producing over 200 pounds of it. This product, as well as other items, will be available to take home for a donation to FPR.

Florida Parrot Rescue, founded by Jennifer Underwood James with Karen Atwood as Senior Vice President, is a not-for-profit avian rescue dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of companion parrots and pet birds.
