About noon on Wednesday, a small kitchen fire broke out on Columbus Street in New Orleans. The location was home to three cats, two of which were able to get out without any injury or issue. The third, however, was not quite as lucky.
The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) arrived on the scene to find the third cat near the flames and lifeless, WFSB.com reports. The firefighters acted quickly, removing the cat from the home and away from the fire and supplying the feline with a special oxygen mask designed for cats and dogs. WFSB.com reports that it only took minutes for the cat to revive.
“I guess he has eight more lives,” NOFD Doug Cardinale told WFSB.com. Cardinale added that the cat was returned to his owner and is believed to be in good health.
Do you think every fire department should be equipped with these oxygen masks?
