Neil Patrick HarrisNeil Patrick Harris narrates a new PBS documentary exploring the bond between service dogs and the people they help.

“Through a Dog’s Eyes,” based on the book by the same name by Jennifer Arnold, details how dogs learn to serve people with disabilities and how training organizations pair animals and humans. The film focuses on several service-dog trainers and teams, including an Iraqi veteran who became a quadriplegic after a car accident and a 6-year-old with cerebral palsy.

Harris, star of “How I Met Your Mother” and “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” owns two dogs and told The Associated Press that he was moved by the strong emotional connection between the service animals and those who rely on them.
