Project Street Dogs Thailand, a nonprofit organization that helps and rescues stray animals, rescued Gidget from the streets of Hua Hin. Shortly thereafter, the white fluffy dog was on her way to New York’s North Shore Animal League America.

“We started working with Project Street Dog Thailand back in May,” rescue services senior manager at North Shore Animal League America, Cindy Szczudlo, told The Dodo. “Beautiful little Gidget was one of our recent rescues who we brought in a couple weeks ago.”

Gidget’s time at the no-kill animal rescue was happily cut short when she became the proud pup of celebrity parents.

Actors Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka decided it was time to add another member to their family and settled on one of the furry variety. Gidget came into their lives thanks to the couple’s friend, Beth Stern, who works with North Shore Animal League America. She felt the cute dog would be perfect for the Harris-Burtka family, according to The Dodo.

And it looks like Stern was right. Gidget looks really happy in her new home with Harris, Burtka and their children, Harper and Gideon.

Introducing the newest member of our family GIDGET! Thank you @animalleague and @bethostern #getyourrescueon
