A man in England got his Cocker Spaniel and her five puppies back after he posted an appeal on Facebook that someone had stolen them.
On Nov. 28, Craig Vaughan, who lives on a farm in Yarm, North Yorkshire, England, secured the kennel where his dog, Dora, and her puppies were staying and went to milk his cows. When he returned, the door to the kennel was open and the dogs were gone.
“My biggest worry is that these people cannot sell them and they will throw them in a ditch,” Vaughan told ITV News after his dogs were stolen.
Well I’d just like people to know that some sick bastard stole my dogs today , my little cocker and her litter of 5 pups , could people please share this . Thanks
Vaughan, who had sold all but one of the three-week-old puppies, posted a plea on Facebook, asking folks to share his post in hopes that he would get his dogs back. The post went viral on Facebook, with nearly a quarter million shares and more than 12,000 comments.
And on Nov. 30, just two days after Dora and her puppies were stolen, the dogs were returned to him.
“The dogs are fine, they don’t look any worse for what has happened. They have been fed and they are fine,” Vaughan told ITV News. “I cannot believe I have got them back, it just goes to show you cannot beat the Great British Public.”
Vaughan believes that whoever stole his dogs would have had trouble selling them due to all the publicity surrounding the theft.
“They are back safe and they are in the house, they are not in the kennels, and they are staying here.”
