Reef-a-Palooza 2012 was the largest show ever with more than 4,000 attendees checking out the latest in marine reef hardware, soft goods, and livestock at the Hangar in Costa Mesa, CA. The event is growing each year, proving that Southern California has one of the largest concentrations of saltwater and reefkeeping hobbyists in the United States.

The two day event in October featured close to 80 exhibitors showcasing everything from nano tanks and LED lighting, to protein skimmers, wavemakers and fish foods. Also on hand were a variety of coral propagators and local fish stores plying their wares to an enthusiastic saltwater fish and reefkeeping community. Dubbed the World’s Largest Aquarium Show, this year’s event took place in a 23,000 square foot venue. Next year, the show grows as it moves to a 36,000 square foot facility. The show has grown considerably in the last couple of years to warrant the move. In 2011, the show brought in 3,900 attendees and in 2010, 3,250 saltwater and reefkeeping hobbyists walked through the Hangar in Costa Mesa. Expect the show to grow even more as folks discover the beauty of the saltwater fish and reefkeeping hobby. Check the video for just a sampling of what was seen at the show.
