Molly Sims’ Dog Chloe Hospitalized

The Yorkshire Terrier is a "spokesdog” for the Hill’s Pet Nutrition PetFit Challenge.

Molly Sims’ dog Chloe was admitted to the East End Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Riverhead, N.Y., over the weekend after a day at a local South Fork beach, where the Yorkshire Terrier apparently ingested salt water and some sand.

The dog was released from the hospital after an overnight stay, and was doing well at home, the New York Post reports.

Sims and Chloe, along with Sims’ other Yorkshire Terrier Poepette, work closely with several animal-related charities and serve as spokesperson and “spokesdogs” for Hill’s Pet Nutrition 2008 PetFit Challenge, which has pledged to help America’s overweight pets lose 50 million pounds this year.

Sims and celebrity fitness trainer Gunnar Peterson, who has created exercise routines for celebrities like Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Lopez, have created a special workout for dog owners to do with their dogs.

The American Veterinary Medical Association estimates that more than 35 percent of dogs and cats in the U.S. are overweight or obese, for a total of 54 million animals.
