Applause, applause, applause for Lady Gaga’s newest monster, a French Bulldog named Asia.
On Sunday, Lady Gaga posted an adorable photo to her Little Monsters website, with the caption “Me and my BATPIG #partbat #partpig”.
Gaga followed up her photo with an Instagram video introducing the adorable Frenchie to the world. “Her name is Asia. She is a BATPIG I love her I’m her mom.”
While everyone is familiar with Gaga’s love of the unusual and bizarre, the little Batpig is neither a pig nor a bat, but rather a sweet little French Bulldog. Their large bat-like ears and flat noses, have led to the nickname “batpig.” Once a lesser known breed, French Bulldogs have been rapidly making their way up the list of most popular dog breeds.
Frenchies make exemplary companions and Asia is sure to give Lady Gaga plenty of cuddling. Generally laid-back, they can also have a stubborn streak that is best addressed with a sense of humor. French Bulldog’s have a flair for dramatics and will constantly look for new ways to express their sensitive natures and wide range of emotions. Sounds a lot like Lady Gaga to us! Less “Lady” like is the breed’s tendency to snore, pass gas, and make a variety of unusual noises.
Terrific for a person who:
- Doesn’t have time for long exercise routines.
- Wants a dog that will enjoy new people.
- Hopes for enthusiasm without boisterousness.
Think twice if you’re a person who:
- Will be disappointed if your dog is an obedience school dropout.
- Wants a dog that is a good swimmer.
- Is easily offended by strange noises and smells.
Lady Gaga lost her beloved childhood dog Alice in October of last year. Alice was 17 when she lost her battle with cancer.
“My puppy Alice died. We had to put her down, cancer ate away at a little angel. My daddy is so sad, we all are, lost a member of our family,” she tweeted. “I just pray Alice found her wonderland.”
