Mass Dog Wedding Mania to Hit Colorado

Mock exchange of dog vows will raise money for charity.

An event being billed as the “world’s first and largest mass dog wedding ceremony” will take place on Saturday, May 19 at the Aspen Grove Lifestyle Center in Littleton, Colo.

The mock exchange of bow-wow vows will raise money for the Dumb Friends League, a 95-year-old animal-welfare organization based in Denver.

“The event is geared to provide a fun way to assist an organization that impacts us all in such a positive way,” says Jill Kobe, the Aspen Grove’s general manager.

The ceremony will be followed by a reception for dog and human participants. Kobe says she and her dog will participate – up to a point.

“My Pug Aunt Bea is getting married, but like any modern-day gal, she has opted to keep her maiden name,” says Kobe.

Participants will be asked to contribute a $50 donation.
