Sunny and Bo Obama

While it’s possible we’ve all thought of how fun it would be to own either of the adorable Obama dogs, typically the thought ends there. Scott D. Stockert, however allegedly meant business and he was arrested in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, after police investigated a Secret Service tip that he planned to kidnap one of the President’s dogs.

The 49-year-old, drove from his home in Dickinson, N.D. to New York to to D.C., and was arrested, at the Hampton Inn in Washington. When found, Stockert, admitted to having two firearms with him which included a 12-gauge pump shotgun and a bolt-action .22-caliber rifle, neither of which, he was registered to own (an illegal offense). Also hidden in the truck, were over 350 round of ammo, a machete and billy club.

Upon his arrest, Stockert made claims that he was the son of John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe, as well as the son of God (otherwise known as Jesus Christ). He also stated he had plans to run for president as well as introduce a new health care plan. Also in his plan: stealing the First Dog.

Stockert was charged with illegally carrying a rifle or shotgun outside of a home or business. He appeared today in D.C. Superior Court where the judge ordered him to be released into a high-intensity supervision program until a court date could be set. He has been ordered to stay away from the Capitol and aways from weapons of any kind.

We’re glad to hear our favorite first dogs are safe and hope they get an extra dog bone at dinner tonight!
