Catalyst for Cats organization helps Santa Barbara?s feral and abandoned cats.

Santa Barbara boasts some of the nation’s most pricey real estate and famous residents. Until recently, this slice of California coastline had a dirty little secret: teeming colonies of feral cats. Cat populations have stabilized in the south county — though constant vigilance is required — thanks to one tireless volunteer. Randi Fairbrother is the founder and president of Catalyst for Cats, an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to spaying and neutering Santa Barbara’s feral and abandoned cats and to socializing and finding homes for rescue kittens.
